“Rosewood” (1997) was shot in various locations in the United States, including Sanford, Florida, Lake County, Florida, and other areas in Florida and the USA. The filming took place between January 29, 1996, and April 27, 1996. On the other hand, “Rosemary’s Baby” (1968) was predominantly filmed at The Dakota, West 72nd Street, New York. The Dakota is a historical building sitting on Central Park West. Today, filming is prohibited in this block, but its exterior can still be seen in other movies, like “Vanilla Sky” where it was used to depict Tom Cruise’s home.

Trivia and Facts
Fun fact: “Rosemary’s Baby” was initially going to be directed by William Castle but eventually, he stepped down to become the producer and the task of direction was taken over by Roman Polanski. Also, Ruth Gordon, who played the Woodhouse’s busybody neighbor, Minnie Castevet, outshone the rest with her stellar performance. Interestingly, the only other film shot at the Dakota was the 1949 movie “House of Strangers”. Some famous tenants of Dakota have been Judy Garland, Lauren Bacall, Boris Karloff, Leonard Bernstein, and tragically, it was also the last home of John Lennon – who was shot dead at the entrance of this building in December 1980.
For “Rosewood”, it’s a dramatization of a 1923 horrific racist lynch mob attack on an African-American community. It was directed by John Singleton and written by Gregory Poirier. The leading actors were Jon Voight, Ving Rhames, and Don Cheadle.
