- The producer of the film, A.C. Lyles, in later interviews, recounted that acclaimed costume designer Edith Head pulled clothes for his low-budget film from Paramount’s wardrobe stock, off the records, as he couldn’t afford her on his budget.
- Edith Head suggested her idle seamstresses to prepare new period costumes for actor Betty Hutton, using her old measurements from Paramount films from the 1940s and early 50s. These newly made outfits replaced the old wardrobe stock, without posing any financial burden on Lyles.
