Trivia and Facts
The film was based on the terrifying real-life story of Robert ‘Willy’ Pickton, referred to as a pig farmer cum prolific killer, who rattled the world with his horrifying crimes. The character of ‘Willy’ in the movie was played by Jake Busey.
Interestingly, actress Kate Patel originally wanted to play both Wendy Eastman and Willy Pickman’s roles. She even did a screen test in makeup and a skull cap but was met with technical challenges. It was then that Jake Busey, known for his role in Starship Troopers, was suggested by Robert Rhine for the demanding role of Willy. Soon after Busey’s approval, Rhine added more funding for Busey’s character.
An error in one of the film scenes was also noted when Brenda, played by Bai Ling, died with her eyes open after being strangled. However, in the following scene Brenda’s eyes are mysteriously closed.
“Pig Killer” was released in the United States in 2023 by Breaking Glass Pictures and has a runtime of 122 minutes. Apart from being released in the U.S., it was also distributed in other countries like Germany and Brazil.
