Trivia and Facts
- The filming was halted for an entire year when Kristy McNichol experienced a chemical imbalance, also referred to as an emotional breakdown, hence could not continue with filming.
- Despite the delay, McNichol recovered within two weeks. However, the second half of the film needed to be filmed in snow, requiring the production to wait until the next winter season.
- There were some continuity issues noticed in the film, one of which includes Sam Carpenter (played by Robert Carradine) having a paint stain on the back of his overcoat while carrying Susan upstairs. However, when he returns to the cab, the paint stain is gone.
