Trivia and Facts
The 2004 film “I, Robot,” which also highlighted filming locations, shared its director, Alex Proyas, with “I, Tonya.” The cast of “I, Robot” included popular actors like Will Smith, Bridget Moynahan, and Alan Tudyk. Filming took place in several spots in British Columbia, including Vancouver’s Ovaltine Cafe. Studio sets were built at Pier 94 in North Vancouver. The production also filmed in New Westminster’s 600 block of Front Street, known as ‘Antique Alley’. The opulent Shannon Mews on Granville Street, South Vancouver, was used as the mansion of Dr Lanning in “I, Robot.” Some scenes were also shot at 1077 West Cordova Street, in front of the Shaw Tower, which is considered Vancouver’s tallest building.
