- The film was initially given an “R” rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), but after an appeal, the rating was reduced to “PG”.
- In the movie’s last scene, there’s a mistake. During an attack by one of the reptile-men in the helicopter, Harry and the large front cockpit window can be seen, and outside the window is the whole jungle, although they had been flying at high altitude for some time. The scene might have been filmed when they were still on the ground.
- “Dance of the Dwarfs” is referred to in a 2005 movie “Ban the Sadist Videos!”
