- After the movie wrapped up, actor Burt Reynolds kept a photo from the film of the bedroom scene between him and Angie Dickinson, blew it up, and hung it over the bar at his home. The picture was captioned: “An actor’s life is pure hell?”
- In a scene where O.W. had Sam Whiskey shoot his Gatling-style gun, Sam was hitting below the targets. O.W. said he adjusted Sam’s eyesight by raising the front sight, only to shoot it himself and hit the targets.
