Trivia and Facts
- Snuff was actually a low-budget biker film from Argentina initially called “The Slaughter”.
- Co-producer Allan Shackleton saw a way to make quick money from it. He not only changed the movie’s title to “Snuff” but also added a 10-minute epilogue showing a fake murder meant to pass off as real.
- Even though the special effects and acting revealed it to be made-up, it was promoted as a real murder.
- This film did not match their mouth movements to English dubs throughout the movie.
- A publicity stunt involving the New York Police Department and a group of faux protestors took place at a public showing of the movie in Times Square, New York. As a result, the film made over $300,000 in just three weeks.
