- In 2002, Nesler was found guilty of possessing and distributing methamphetamine, serving four years of a six-year sentence. She passed away from breast cancer at the age of 56 on December 30th, 2008.
- Her son, Brandon, led a troubled life. In 2005, when he was 23, he was found guilty of murdering a neighbor who cleaned their house. He killed the man on the very same day he was released from a 30-day sentence for a previous attack on the same man. For this crime, Brandon was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. He will not be eligible for parole until 2030, at the earliest.
